Sonya & Nathan | Engagement | Lafayette, Indiana
Meet Sonya and Nathan who are tying the knot on the 4th of July! They are such a cute and sweet couple. I actually met these two at Emily and Kyle's wedding last year and then they contacted me about photographing their own wedding afterwards.
When we were talking about their engagement portraits they mentioned that they were really wanting to do them in the snow. After the holidays we got in touch and set up a date for February. I kept watching the weather and waiting for the snow to come. The week leading up to their date there was no snow but it was supposed to snow on Saturday and their session was for Sunday. Yes! I confirmed their session and waited for the snow to fall. NO SNOW FELL :( Not only that but EVERYWHERE around us got dumped with a ton of snow. The weather gods were definitely against us. I talked to Sonya and Nathan and they said it would be fine if there wasn't snow so we went ahead with their session.
They had picked Happy Hollow Park and the downtown area for their engagement portraits. They wanted an outdoor feel to some and they are getting married at the Lafayette Theater so they wanted to include that into their portraits as well. We went to Happy Hollow first and it still had some snow! It was probably the last place in Lafayette that still had some. It had turned to ice, but it was still there so we were able to give them some of the snowy photos that they wanted. Yay!
Oh and did I mention the temp that day? A whopping 10 degree high! These two were troupers! :)
Ok enough of my rambling, view some of my favorites below and keep an eye out for their wedding in July! :)
