I was contacted by Wish of a Lifetime which is an organization that grants wishes for the elderly. They were having an amazing reconnecting loved ones wish that would be happening in Lafayette and needed a photographer for the event. I am so glad that I was available because the story of these three sisters is just amazing.
Isabella was born in Iowa and was the oldest of her sisters, Estella and Janie. Due to a difficult family situation, the girls were separated when Isabella was 11, Estella was 5, and Janie was 2. Isabella ended being placed in a few foster homes and Estella and Janie were placed in different orphanages. The sisters had no contact from then until Isabella turned 18 and she was able to find out what happened to them. The sisters missed each other terribly during this time.
Isabella ended up moving to New York City shortly afterwards to become a model and actress. However, she kept in touch with her sisters. Even though they had been apart all that time they still had a strong bond. They have kept in touch over the years by phone, mail, and through photos but have not had the opportunity or means to be reunited in person. Estella and Janie both ended up in Lafayette, Indiana but have not seen Isabella in well over 50 years! 50 years!
Isabella's wish of a lifetime was to travel to Indiana to see her sisters again and meet their husbands, children, and grandchildren and Wish of a Lifetime was able to grant to her wish! After 50 long years, the sisters have finally been reunited!
