West Lafayette Indiana Wedding: Sharon & Kevin

Sharon and Kevin are married!!!! You may remember these two from their West Lafayette, Indiana engagement session last November (you can view that HERE). Sharon and Kevin have been together since 2013. They first met while they were both attending Purdue University while hanging out with mutual friends at the Black Sparrow in downtown Lafayette. They ended up talking, became fast friends, and decided to be roommates two weeks later! They started dating and rest is history!

Kevin proposed to Sharon in October 2017 at Lake Needlewood in Maryland. Sharon and Kevin enjoy going on runs together and spent a lot of time on a trail at Lake Needlewood. Kevin orchestrated a normal run around sunset time. At the end of the trail he assembled some of their friends and family with signs that read "Sharon, will you marry me (Kevin)". As they were running and started to get closer to the end of the trail, Sharon noticed that there was a group of people with signs. She immediately thought it was some sort of demonstration or protest and urged Kevin that they should turn around. Kevin persuaded her to keep running and asked her if she could make out what the signs said. As she got a little closer she realized one of the signs said "Sharon" and was confused. As she continued running, she realized that she knew some of the sign holders. She sprinted towards them and realized what was happening. Sharon obviously said yes and Kevin proposed to her with her grandmother's ring.

Their wedding on Saturday was just gorgeous! They held their wedding at Kevin's parent's house in West Lafayette, Indiana. They live on some great land that has a big open area with horses and is surrounded by trees. Sharon and Kevin originally were planning on having their ceremony outside under a tree and their reception in a big tent. However, Mother Nature decided that Indiana needs a ton of rain this spring (seriously, what's with all this rain) and had other plans for Saturday. They made the decision to move their ceremony into the tent and it was still gorgeous! The rain even let up some so we could still take some outdoor portraits.

Sharon and Kevin's wedding was filled with lots of greenery and a neutral color palette. It was a big celebration and they were surrounded by their friends and family. They also had several special elements to their wedding day. There was a crochet from Sharon's great grandmother, wine glass from Kevin's grandfather, and they had a special beer specifically for their wedding from their friends at Burn 'Em Brewing. They had their wedding party and parents stand at the altar with them and they had a completely vegetarian and vegan reception dinner. AND the day before their wedding, they kicked things off with a casual 5K and breakfast for their family and friends. Super fitting since they got engaged on a run! They really catered their wedding specifically to them, which I love!
