Kaitlin and Jeff are married! YAY! You may remember these two from their Purdue University engagement session. (You can view that HERE.) These two first met back in 2014. A mutual friend set up a trip to Cedar Point and both Kaitlin and Jeff were attending. When she arrived at the hotel to check in, she met Jeff who proceeded to give her a hug. They hit it off and have been together ever since! Fast forward a couple of years and Jeff and Kaitlin were on vacation in Florida. On their last night they decided to go grab dinner at a fancy restaurant that was on the beach. While they were waiting for their table, Jeff suggested that they should take a walk on the beach. While they were walking on the sands of St. Pete Beach, Jeff got down on one knee and asked Kaitlin to marry him! She obviously said yes!
Kaitlin and Jeff's wedding wasn't exactly what they both expected. They planned for a big wedding at Valle Vista Country Club in Indianapolis, Indiana and were excited to celebrate the day with their friends and family. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 (aka coronavirus), they had to make the tough decision to postpone their wedding to later in the year. Now, even though COVID-19 has certainly disrupted lots of plans, events, and pretty much everything, the one thing it can not disrupt is love! Kaitlin and Jeff were excited to get married and April 18th was a special date for them. They decided to go ahead and get married on their original wedding date and then have a vow renewal and reception in November so their family and friends could attend and so they could have the big wedding of their dreams.
They started putting the plan in motion and reached out to Kaitlin's church, Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Shelbyville, Indiana, that she grew up in to see if they could get married there. They had just their parents in attendance and got married outside of the church to comply with social distancing. It was the perfect day! Kaitlin's bouquet was made from flowers that one of her friend's sent her and she wrapped it with ribbon that was attached to one of their wedding gifts. Kaitlin's mom filmed the ceremony on her phone so they could share it with their friends and family as well!
Even though it wasn't exactly the day that they had originally planned for, it was still perfect and beautiful! And they still get to share the day with all their friends and family in November. Plus, who doesn't want to have two weddings?!?!
Enjoy some of my favorite images below and be sure to keep an eye out for their big wedding in November!
