Emily and Jakota are married! YAY! You will probably remember these two from their proposal at Turkey Run State Park and their engagement session at Indiana University. (You can view more HERE and HERE.) These two first met back in 2017 at a bar in Manhattan, KS. Emily had just started vet school in the area and Jakota was stationed in the area with the Army. After Jakota introduced himself with rock, paper, scissors, they hit it off and started to spend more and more time together and decided to do long distance when Jakota moved back to Indiana after the Army. Fast forward to May 2023. Emily finished school a couple years prior and they were settling into their life together in Indiana. Jakota planned the perfect proposal. He took Emily and their dog, Howie, on a hike at one of their favorite state parks, Turkey Run. He hired me to capture the moment and flew out her family to be there hidden behind a rock to surprise her after the proposal. He changed out Howie's collar to a collar that asked Emily to marry him. It was just perfect!

They held their wedding this Saturday at Deer Park Manor in Bloomington, Indiana. They both wanted their wedding to be in Bloomington, Jakota is a IU alum and Emily has spent a lot of time in the city with Jakota so it just made sense. They loved the look of the venue and knew it would be perfect for their wedding. They filled their wedding with green and navy details, succulents and cacti, and their favorite food- breakfast food! They also wrote their own vows (and did rock, paper, scissors to see who would go first) and had their dog, Howie, be the ring bearer. He's been a big part of their lives together (and the proposal) so they knew they had to include him into the wedding!

Emily and Jakota: It's been a blast getting to meet and work with you both on your proposal, engagement, and now wedding day. You both make such a perfect couple and your wedding was just perfect and a reflection of you both. I know you will have a lifetime filled with love and laughter!
