Meet the adorable Angela and Dennis! These two have been together since 2018. Angela went on a trip to Chicago and one of her friends there was Dennis' cousin. Her friend introduced them to each other and they hit it off right away. Fast forward to last September and Dennis proposed to Angela. They both love visiting National Parks and they took a trip to a National Park in North Carolina. While they were out hiking, Dennis pretended that he had a stick in his shoe and then he proposed! Angela obviously said yes!
Angela and Dennis are having a big wedding in May with their ceremony at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and their reception at the Ritz Charles Pavilion. They will be filling their day with sage green and dusty blue details and can't wait to celebrate with all of their friends and family.
Even though they will be having their big wedding in May, they still didn't want to wait to officially tie the knot and become husband and wife! They decided to have a small civil ceremony at the Courthouse in Downtown Lafayette with just their parents present. Since my wedding packages include an engagement session, we decided to swap out the engagement session for their civil ceremony and a few portraits.
The day of their civil ceremony, Lafayette got hit with a pretty big thunderstorm that morning and the rain never moved out and ended up raining pretty much the whole day. Our original plan for the day was to do some portraits ahead of their civil ceremony and then I would photograph their ceremony. Mother nature had other plans, however! We still met up to do a few portraits but, of course, as soon as we arrived, it started raining. We did a few under the overhang of the courthouse and then decided to reschedule to another day for the rest of their portraits. We met back up for their civil ceremony and a couple portraits afterwards with them and their family. Even though the rain hampered our plans a bit, it was still perfect!
Keep an eye out for images from their portrait session later this month and then images from their big wedding in May!
