Meet the adorable Amber and Yinfan! They are married! YAY! These two first met online back in 2019 while they were both in Paris. Amber was living in Paris for work and Yinfan had just moved back to Paris after working abroad for a few years. They hit it off and the rest is history! Fast forward a couple years and they started talking about getting engaged. Amber let Yinfan know she was ready at a surprise "pre-proposal" at their home with a dinner and some decorations. Yinfan then surprised Amber with a surprise trip to Annecy, France. He proposed on a private boat while they were in the middle of the lake. How romantic!
Amber and Yinfan currently live in Paris and their families both live on two different continents and cannot all easily travel. They also both have different cultural traditions for weddings, Amber with the typical American wedding and Yinfan with a cultural Chinese wedding. Because of all of this, they decided that they should plan two weddings to accommodate all of the family and all of the traditions that they would like to have for their weddings. For their first wedding, the focus was really to celebrate with Amber's family and have a ceremony and then a big party. They tied in Americana vibes along with French and Chinese cultures.
They held their wedding in Terre Haute, Indiana because it is where Amber's Great Aunt lives and it would make it easy for her to travel. It is also a central hub for the rest of Amber's midwest based family so it made a good location for everyone. They held their ceremony at the gorgeous White Chapel at Rose Hulman. Amber's father is an alumnus of Rose Hulman and Amber and Yinfan both loved the huge gorgeous windows at the chapel! Their reception was held at The Red Barn and they loved the light and wood that it offers.
Their wedding was filled with blue and peach details, a string quartet, a blend of American, French, and Chinese cultures, and they really loved getting to celebrate with all of Amber's family and friends.
Enjoy a few of my favorite images from their wedding below!
